How do you celebrate Christmas?

Hi everybody!
I've been having some tests, that's why I haven't been posting.
My class has been talking about celebrations here in Argentina. Some people talked about christmas, and a lot of people were asking themselves...
HOW DO PEOPLE IN (COUNTRY) CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS?
(The countries they mentioned were a lot!).

In Argentina: we start the celebration from 9 or 10pm until it's midnight so we can exchange presents and cards.

My question for you is... how do you celebrate christmas? What do you usually do for christmas?

Tell me in your comments!

Hey Stephie
Thanks for your wonderful comment. :) I'm glad you like the idea of the groups and I still am wishing you the best in your tests.
Well, in my religion, we DON'T celebrate Christmas-well, not necessarily- we can if we want to but that is rare. So unfortunately I have nothing to say about my Christmas. SORRY. Though I hope you do find out how all the other Christmases around the world go...
I would love to have fun in Christmas, share gifts and chat with family, go out at night or so to festivals and maybe at midnight watch the fireworks. It would be breath taking...
I actually discovered much more about Argentina's Christmas! It sounds so great and different. Wish you the best, and thanks for sharing and raising awareness about this Christmas idea.
P.S I can't wait till Sunday!!! ;)
Kisses, Nadine

Hi,
that looks like a good discussion.
In Sudan there are many religions including Christianity.
but we usually don't see Christmas trees glowing and Santa clause and etc.
people here celebrate Christmas by going to concerts and partying.
it's just festivity and celebration

your post triggered an idea to my head: creating a 3-minute movie about how christmas is celebrated in your country
that wud be nice

Hey,
In Canada we celebrate Christmas by having Christmas trees, wreaths, and a whole bunch of decorations around the house. We always have lots of snow for Christmas too, We wake up Christmas morning and open gifts, then I usually go out ski dooing after because we have a lake right in the middle of town. I think it is very interesting to see how everyone celebrates Christmas and why it is important to their culture.

Hello Piscilla
yes, it would be great to start reading
it will improve your vocabulary and broaden your imagination...

I also recommend you to read a book called Totto Chan, by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi
it's a great book. When i was living in the UAE I ordered it via Amazon and it's still a favorite of mine

Hey Stephie!
I celebrate Christams like this...
On Christmas Eve I go over my grandma and poppy's house. We eat dinner, I cant remeber though because it always changes.lol

And its been a tradition, and its kind of weird, but they always buy me and my sister pajamas with funky slippers.lol So when we wake up christmas morning we look stylish!

Than we stay there and hang out. But when it gets too late we go to my house and sleep. When we wake up we open prestents, of course. usually around noon time our family comes over for a party~
And thats my christmas!

So whats up how are you?
keep posted,
Ashley<3<3<3

Hi Stephie!

In the US we celebrate with Christmas trees and presents and don't forget "Santa Claus"! Christmas morning we go downstairs and open presents that have been placed under the tree. We also have many parties with all of our family! "It's the most wonderful time of the year!"

Oh Stephie!
Of course I wasn't offended! Why would I be? No no, don't worry, your post was perfectly fine...
Anyways, yes I will be online on Sunday I am hoping and 1 pm is a fab time for me. Though, could you be on from 10 am in Australia to around 6 pm? That would be awesome. If you can't, no worries.
And thanks for your comment!! How much do you give the website out of 10 then?
School's fine, turns out we've had a scray test in Maths, which took us an hour in a half, it was pretty easy but I got stuck on a few questions. I got a B and came 5th smartest out of the Year 5s and 6s of my class! Yay!!

Hi Stephie!
I'm wishing you the best in your tests. My tests are done, thank god! I had 2 tough Maths tests... and an easy English test. I hope I do well and get a FAB mark-enough to satisfy me!
Good luck in your exams!! ;)
Ummm... yes I have heard of Twilight, but I haven't read the books because I can't find them in libraries... it sounds really good though! Anyways, it is coming out on movies and I am really hoping to watch it soon.
All the best,
Hugs, Nadine
